As the founder of St. Petersburg Yoga, Chris Acosta began a daily practice almost 30 ago while in a full body brace (for 4 years and for 23 hrs a day) to first heal his extreme scoliosis (2 curvatures with largest almost 50 degrees), multiple herniated discs, pinched nerves and spinal arthritis. Freed from the severe pain, deformation of the body, and armed with those successes, he focused on the greater liberations that Yoga was designed for.
Mr. Acosta’s primarily loves to demonstrate the true power of authentic Yoga to transform any area that binds and limits, from the pain and handicaps of the body or the mental traps and seemingly inescapably cycles of suffering.
Chris holds an E- RYT 500 educator level certification from Yoga Alliance and is also honored to be part of the distinguished faculty at the Omega Institute in New York. He developed Yoga Traction Therapy. He instructs from many influences: Iyengar, Therapeutic, Restorative, Ashtanga, Power, Vinyasa, Pranayama, Mantra, Meditation, Yoga philosophy; Yoga Sutras, Upanishads, Bhagavad-Gita. He specializes in the injured and very beginner to intermediate through to the most advanced. Chris's open group classes are (All Levels)

Laura Blomquist
Laura began practicing yoga in 1999 after her podiatrist
recommended it to heal a running injury. Not only did it
heal her running injury, it healed her mind and her heart
as well.
Originally from Chicago, Laura relocated to St. Petersburg
in 2004 with her Fiancé. After spending several years
working in Social Work, Laura realized her passions lay
elsewhere. A year long battle with a health issue that precluded
her from driving helped her realize she
needed to pursue
a career in line with her values and passions.
Laura’s teaching centers on helping students achieve mind-body
healing. She specifically focuses on helping students learn
to monitor their thinking and choose positive thoughts to create
holistic, positive life changes and creating a sense of internal
balance, union and completeness. Laura teaches a Vinyasa Flow style
of yoga for intermediate through advanced students.

Vásquez
I began practicing Yoga daily in 1996,
and every day I look forward to the overall well being
that Yoga brings into my life. As is the case for many
yogis, Yoga has inspired my way of living. So, when family
and friends started asking me to lead Yoga sessions for
them, I felt honored and exhilarated to have the opportunity
and responsibility to share my love of Yoga with them.
In the last few years, everything aligned beautifully
for me to enroll in a Yoga teacher training program to
deepen my practice and my understanding of Yoga.
I
am grateful for the opportunities I have to touch other people’s
lives through Yoga and I hope that Yoga brings as many teachings,
joy and well being to them as it has brought to me. I feel that
teaching Yoga, besides being a dream come true, is an honor and
a responsibility that requires attention, knowledge, caring, preparation
and flexibility. More than a teacher, I see myself as a dedicated
student who loves to practice, learn and share. Everyday I am excited
to explore, research, practice, and share Yoga with others. Following
the example of teachers I admire, in every class I do my best to
help students discover their own way of practicing Yoga.Visit: www.rubenvasquez.com

Wells, she has developed a unique style of her own, emphasizing
the importance of prolonging the benefits of Yoga long
after the practice has ended.

I had been practicing Yoga for 15 years when I realized that the Yogic Path encompassed all the tools I needed to assist me in my personal growth and my daily life. I am a RYT 200 instructor, a graduate of St. Petersburg Yoga.
I began my journey in the Fitness/Health Industry in Fitness and Aquatics 30 years ago in the Chicago Area. Through continued practice I now apply the principles of yoga to every type of class that I teach.
My style of class includes Vinyasa (movement) to warm the body moving smoothly into strength and balance practice and finishing with cooling asana on the mat and savasana.
I have found that by focusing on the breath through every pose and moving with each breath I discover new insights and openings into the incredible strength and awareness of my body. I am honored to assist my students in exploring their true strength and ability through their yoga practice.

Know your body - observe your mind.
When I first stepped onto the mat over 15 years ago I knew I had discovered something special.
After a few months of practice I realized yoga would be a lifetime journey for me.
As a triathlete and distance runner, I saw the value in the softer side of movement, knowing it would bring balance, strength, flexibility and mental focus to my busy life.
Influenced by both Ashtanga strength and Iyengar precision, I aim to help my students help themselves be developing awareness of their bodies - in addition to teaching the meditative value of stilling the mind and quieting the nervous system.
My beach yoga classes are a more organic style - incorporated flowing movements with the natural surroundings of gulf breezes, sunset skies and the soft supporting base of sand under foot.
I am honored to be representing St. Petersburg Yoga and joyful to share my knowledge with all who enter my classroom.
Jill is a 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Instructor and graduate of St. Petersburg Yogi Teacher Training.
She is also a certified USA Triathlon Coach.

Yoga has been a vital part of my life since 2000. I attended yoga teacher training in 2004 at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre in Woodbourne, NY, and have been teaching ever since. I am forever the student and practitioner of many different styles of yoga, drawing inspiration from Kundalini,Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Jivamukti yoga.
My classes offer a variety of asanas and always include pranayama (breath work), bandhas, energetic aspects of yoga and a guided savasana. Sharing my love of yoga is a beautiful experience, one that keeps me inspired throughout my daily routine. Enjoy a vibrant vinyasa practice followed by cooling, seated asanas, inversions and mindful relaxation. See you there!

Laura Badcock
Laura Badcock is a 200 hour Yoga Alliance Instructor and graduate of St. Petersburg Yogi Teacher Training.
For me yoga is about enjoying the journey of a pose. I encourage students to meet themselves where they are and to know that no matter where that may be - it’s okay.
My style of yoga is restorative and alignment based while gentle and nurturing. I specialize in teaching yoga that incorporates connecting with your breath, mindful movements, and mediation. I love helping students relax, release muscle tension, and calm their mind.
